6 week check up

So, there is a reason why our little man is wearing size 6-9 month clothing at 6 weeks old.... that is because he is the size of a small house!  Just came back from the Dr.'s and he is 14 lbs and 25 1/2 inches long!  So, in 4 weeks, our little weed grew 2+ inches and gained 2 1/2 lbs!  He is literally off the charts in both weight and height for his age, however, because he is so long, he actually didn't gain enough weight to keep up with the growth in his length!  I think Dex and I should consider buying stock in the grocery store and retail industry because with the way this kid is growing, we will be keeping them in business ourselves!

As for the rest of his appointment, everything went great.  The Dr. just thinks he the cutest and complemented on how calm his temperament is.   She placed him on his tummy and he almost rolled himself over!!  She couldn't believe how strong he was as such a young age.  He did get a shot for Hep B and he whimpered a little for about 2 -3 seconds and then he was absolutely fine.  Such a big boy!  Mommy and Daddy couldn't be prouder, little love bug.... love you to pieces :)

First (of many!) playdate!

And what a crew we had today!  We ventured over to Auntie Sara's house to hang out with Miss Lucy, Miss Sophia and their 4 friends..... 7 kiddos all under the age of 3!  They all got on so well with one another.  There was the toddler group of 4:

These guys have all grown up together and play so well, as if they were brothers and sisters....  and then there are the 3 newbies, all under the age of 5 months:

As you can see, the boys did a whole lot of sleeping while Miss Sophia kept a close eye on them!

We had to wait until the very end to get a group picture due to naps and minor meltdowns.... but we got a good one.  Hopefully this will be the start of many more to come!

Happy 1 month Birthday!!

It is hard to believe our little miracle came into this world 1 month ago today.  Each day,  we fall in love with you more, if that is even possible.  We love looking at your dark blue eyes, laughing at all your fun facial expressions.... We don't even mind changing your poopy diapers, especially since listening to you fart just makes us laugh even harder!  You are a dream come true, our little man....  and you truly are exactly what your little pillow says:

"You are what happened when we wished upon a star"

Happy 1 Month Birthday, baby boy.....  we can't wait to celebrate each and every milestone with you!  Love you to the moon and back!  xoxoxox

Hands across the generations

I never knew either of my grandfathers but I have always loved watching the relationship that my nephews and nieces have with their grandad Edddie, he has always been a limitless source of entertainment and laughter for them all.

Conor has two grandfathers and one great grandfather. Donald Reid, Doug's father, is a wonderful man in his eighties, he is a veteran of the War in the Pacific and is never without a smile on his face. He also has five great granddaughters and he was delighted to finally redress the gender balance a little, with his first great grandson.

Conor and Donald met for the first time a couple of weeks ago and this photo of hands born in 1922 meeting tiny ones born in 2011 is very special.
